Mayor John V. Lindsay sent greetings today to the 28th World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem and wished it success in its deliberations. In his telegram to the Congress, Lindsay stated that the Zionist movement “can take justifiable pride in the fact that it has been the generative force in this movement of national renaissance.” Continuing, Lindsay stated that in the 75 years since the first Zionist Congress was held, “the age-old dream of the Jewish people has found fulfillment in the establishment of the modern state of Israel as a free, sovereign nation, respected member of the family of nations.”
