The liquidation of the Jewish displaced persons camps in Italy, which now hold usually 23,000 Jews, is proceeding rapidly, Leon D. Fisher, HIAS director for Italy, revealed over the week-end upon his arrival here. There are, however, he said, thousands of Jews living outside of the camps who are urgently in need of emigration aid.
