The Lithuanian government today officially denied that Anatol Muehlstein, Polish Jewish diplomat who was recently in Kaunas, had been negotiating a rapproachment between Poland and Lithuania, declaring his visit was concerned entirely with Palestine Jewish affairs and not Polish politics.
The Lithuanian government also stated its attitude toward Poland hadn’t changed in the least and that a change was unlikely as long as the Wilno question was unsettled.
Ten years ago Polish troops under General Zelguski seized Wilno.
Poland has kept the city ever since. Relations between the two governments have been unfriendly.
