The Lithuanian government has contributed a plot of ground for the erection of a new building for the Slobodka Yeshiva, it was disclosed at the third semi-annual conference of the Alumni of the Slobodka Yeshiva, held at the Broadway Central Hotel.
The sum of approximately $2,500 was raised at the conference for the building fund of the Yeshivah.
A resolution expressing thanks to the Lithuanian government for its gift of land, was adopted.
Prominent rabbis, former students at the Yeshivah, are members of the alumni organization which was organized here for the purpose of supporting the institution.
