Lithuanian President Commutes Sentence of Condemned Workers

The seven workers, three of whom are Jews, who were sentenced to death by the court martial on the charge of Communism, were granted clemency by President Smetona. The sentence was commuted to life imprisonment, with the exception of one who was given a term of fifteen years at hard labor.
