Palestine is the only means of salvation for the largest part of the persecuted Jewish communities the world over, a resolution adopted at the closing session of the all-Lithuanian rabbinical conference declared.
The conference called for unity between the Agudath Israel, ultraorthodox organization, and the Mizrachi, orthodox Zionists, in building up Palestine. Another resolution adopted protested against the rising wave of anti-Semitism in Lithuania which is threatening the economic existence of Lithuanian Jewry.
At an earlier session, the rabbinical conferenc decided to open negotiations with the Mizrachi, in order to create a united front for all orthodox Jewry. A committee was appointed by the conference and negotiations between the two groups began immediately.
