The Lithuanian Sejm rejected a wits third reading a bill introducing compulsory Sunday observance in Lithuania. This bill has been under consideration in the Sejm for a long time, and has aroused considerable discussion and opposition on the part of the Jewish population, which would find it detrimental to be compelled to rest two days a week.
The sudden change of attitude on the part of the Christian National majority in the Sejm, in rejecting the bill at its third reading, is causing great astonishment.
