The Lithuanian State University here has at present 2,105 students and 263 special students. Of these, 1,464 are Catholics, 496 Jews, 37 Greek Catholics, 48 of no religion, 10 Freethinkers, 29 Lutherans and 2 Mohammedans. The majority of Jewish students are studying at the colleges of Law and Medicine.
