The wholesale dismissal of Jewish officials and clerks in Roumanian banking institutions was prevented by the intervention of M. Moinet, representative of a French-American group now negotiating with the Government concerning a Roumanian loan.
The Roumanian National Bank recently issued an order to the banking institutions affiliated with it and to the industrial concerns under its control to submit a list showing the nationality and religion of their employees. The order urged that the concerns see to it that they employ less foreigners, which meant Jews.
M. Moinet intervened in this matter with Prime Minister Bratianu, declaring that the issuance of such orders hamper the loan negotiations.
