A request for the introduction of a course in modern Hebrew at Dockenfield Manor–a recently-established training center for Orthodox chahitzim–was rejected today by Surrey County Council education authorities.
“It would not be right to spend the taxpayers’ money on teaching a language which is intended primarily for use outside the country,” the Council stated. Similar courses are now being offered in London.
