All Poland is buzzing today with stories of the country’s first kidnapping, carried out in the best American manner, with the victim the 26-year-old son of a Lodz Jewish industrialist.
Simcha Budzyner, the victim, was reported to have been lured by unknown persons into a waiting automobile in Lodz. After he had been missing some time, the youth’s parents were suddenly made aware of what had happened when they received a letter, signed by the youth, declaring he was being held for ransom of 500,000 zlotys (about $100,000).
The police announced today arrest of two suspects in the case.
