Cyril J. Ross, clothing magnate and Zionist leader, received recognition as an artist today after two-and-a-half years of self-training when the Royal Academy accepted two of his paintings. They are entitled “The Promised Land” and “Hear, Of Israel!”
“I am painting the plight of my people today because I feel I must,” Mr. Ross said. He is the treasurer of the Jewish National Fund.
Mr. Ross is chairman and managing director of Wear-Well, Ltd., and head of a chain of clothing stores.
