The conference of world-wide Jewish organizations called to discuss the situation of the German Jews, which opens in London on Sunday, October 29, is described as the most representative Jewish gathering ever assembled, with the certain participation of Jewish organizations and leaders from all parts of the world.
Apparently the Marquess of Reading, former Viceroy of India and noted English statesman, will not preside over the conference and Neville Laski, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, will preside instead. The proceedings will open with a prayer by the Very Reverend Dr. J. H. Hertz, Chief Rabbi of England.
The agenda of the conference will not be published and the proceedings, apart from the opening session, will be conducted in strict privacy without even issuing communiques to the press.
The American Jewish organizations participating in the London conference are the American Jewish Committee and the American Jewish Congress.
