An East London Magistrate’s court heard witnesses yesterday describe how a 15-year-old Jewish boy cried out, “They are killing me !” at the trial of 21-year-old Francis Shaw, who was released on bail for a hearing later this week. He was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to two Jewish youths in the Hackney district last March.
The older of the two boys, aged 16, collapsed in the witness box and had to be carried from the courtroom. One of the witnesses, a physician, told the court that the two boys had been brought to a hospital suffering from injuries and mental shock.
