The New Synagogue, Stamford Hill, was broken into and six Scrll tops of silver, five silver breast plates, two silver pointers and a curtain stolen. The total value of the articles taken was £200.

Myer Simmonds, aged 28, a tailor of Rowton House, Whitechapel, stated to have no fixed home, was remanded at North London Police Court on charges of breaking and entering the synagogue.

The Home for the Hebrew Aged in Portland, Me., will be formally opened for occupancy Sept. 15, it was announced at a meeting of the board of directors.

About forty Jewish boys registered in the Citizens Military Training Camp of Fort Leavenworth this summer. Over two hundred attended each of the Jewish services held the first two Sundays of this month in the Recreation Tent with Rabbi I. J. Sarasohn of Leavenworth as acting Jewish chaplain under the direction of the Jewish Welfare Board. A total of 2,291 boys are reported from Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas.
