Asserting it to be “painfully” obvious that Palestine could not meet German Jewry’s needs, The Times in an editorial today posed the question in the name of “common humanity” whether the rest of the world was so thickly rotated that it did not have room for at least the younger elements of the new dispersion. The editorial termed “mortifying” the reflection that the difficulties and disappointments in Palestine were Largely the consequence of “the Palestine administration’s weakness and the notorious lack of policy and departmental cooperation at home.”

Criticism of the Anglo-Italian agreement, which was approved by the House of Commons yesterday, was voiced during the debate preceding the vote by Philip Noel-Baker, Laborite.
