The Jewish community today expressed gratitude for the offer of the late Lord Balfour’s estate at Haddington as an asylum for German-Jewish refugee children. The offer was made yesterday by Viscount Traprain, Lord Balfour’s nephew and heir. The Balfour estate, “Whittingehame House,” will accommodate 200 children. During their stay they will receive farm training to prepare them for transfer to Palestine.
