Sir Alfred Douglas Has Been Placed on Trial For The Publication And Distribution of a Pamphlet entitled “The Murder of Lord Kichener and the Truth About the Battle of Jutland and the Jews.”
In a pamphlet published in Scotland and distributed throughout England, Sir Alfred Douglas alleged that Winston Churchill had received a large sum of money from the late Sir Ernest Cassel after he had issued an “admittedly false report of the battle of Jutland”.
The Lord who was the editor of a defunct anti-Semitic weekly “Plain English” was committed for trial at the Bow Street Police Court on the charge of having criminally libelled Mr. Churchill.
The case has been adjourned and bail of 100 pounds allowed for the defendent to appear for trial at the Central Criminal Court.
