Reports that Lord Hailey would resign as chairman of the British Coordinating Committee for Refugees at the end of June were confirmed here today. According to the Evening Standard, work of the committee will be continued under a new chairman and probably also under a new name, since Lord Hailey regards the present name as misleading on the ground that it suggests a wider measure of active control than the committee actually possesses. Lord Hailey has proposed renaming the committee as the Central Consultative Committee for Refugees.
