A message of sympathy and condolence from King George and Queen Mary to Lord Reading on the death of Lady Reading, was received by the bereaved Anglo-Jewish statesman today. The message read: “The Queen and I are deeply grieved to hear of your irreparable loss. We send you our most heartfelt sympathy. We know how much you will miss your dear wife, who through your life’s work was a constant helpmate.”
