Lord and Lady Reading are spending the week-end at the Melchett Villa on the Sea of Galilee, before leaving Palestine on Monday for Egypt, together with Mr. Rutenberg.
On Friday Lord Reading visited the Hebrew University, where the students presented to him a memorandum describing the desperate plight of the Jewish students in the Universities of Eastern Europe and elsewhere on account of antisemitic discrimination, and appealing to him to help to obtain greater facilities for a larger number of Jewish students to be allowed to come to Jerusalem to study at the Hebrew University.
The ex-Khedive of Egypt, the first Moslem potentate or ex-potentate to show such interest in the Jewish work in Palestine, has also visited the Hebrew University, expressing himself very much impressed by it. The ex-Khedive has also visited the Jewish colony of Dilb and the Jewish workers’ sanatorium at Motza.
