Lord Winterton of Britain, chairman of the Intergovernmental Refugee Committee, will meet leaders of Jewish and Christian organizations in New York interested in refugees when he comes to the United States to attend the White House conference on refugees, it was disclosed today. He will remain for a few days at the Long Island estate of Myron C. Taylor, American vice-chairman of the Intergovernmental Committee.
Sir Herbert Emerson, director of the committee, will come directly to New York and will probably be the guest of Robert Pell, State Department technical advisor on refugee problems. Paul van Zeeland, president of the Coordinating Foundation, will also come to Washington.
As a preliminary to the conference of officers of the Intergovernmental Committee, which will be held on Oct. 16 and 17, the President’s Advisory Committee on Political Refugees will met in New York in the middle of next week.
