The Los Angeles Jewish Community Council has expelled 14 bodies of the Jewish People’s Fraternal Order, affiliated with the International Workers Order, from membership in the Council, it was announced here today.
The action followed 15 meetings of the Council’s membership committee during which the issue was considered and a number of other meetings of various Council bodies. Beside recommending the expulsion of the units, the membership committee suggested that if the JPFO severs its ties with the International Workers Order then the lodges shall be eligible for reconsideration for membership in the Los Angeles Jewish Community Council.
