Mayor Sam Yorty of Los Angeles, reporting on a visit to Israel, said today he hoped “no one will be foolish enough” to want to see Jerusalem “divided again. It is united today and, in my opinion, it will stay united.” He said the Arab residents in Jerusalem were “better off today” than they had ever been and that “unification is of great benefit to the Arabs in the city.”
