LOS ANGELES MEETING URGES U.S. TO SEEK ARAB-ISRAEL PEACE
A resolution calling upon the United States and the world democracies to reaffirm their traditional friendship and support for Israel as the only democracy in the Middle East and to act to bring about an immediate peace in the region, was adopted here this week-end at a huge mass meeting sponsored by the American Histadrut campaign here.
Zalman Shazar, former Minister of Education in Israel and now head of the Jewish Agency’s department of education and culture, spoke at the rally on the destruction of Jewish civilization in Europe and the Jewish cultural rejuvenation in Israel. Earlier, Mr. Shazar spoke at a meeting of the local section of the American Zionist Council and addressed a number of other meetings.
