Louis A.Pincus, chairman of the Executive of the Jewish Agency for Israel, told the JTA today that the American Jewish community had “a deep understanding of the problems of Israel, both from the political as well as financial points of view.”
Winding up 10 days of conferences here prior to his return to Jerusalem on Wednesday, Mr. Pincus reported that the campaign leadership was confident that the United Jewish Appeal in 1970 will raise considerably more than in 1969 and “will, in fact, raise as much, if not more, than the record-breaking totals of 1967.”
Mr. Pincus said that he had conferred here with the Committee on Campaign Planning of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, the board of directors of the United Jewish Appeal of New York, the American Zionist Council, and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations as well as the Executive of the American Section of the Jewish Agency.
