Louis H. Pink, member of the New York City Housing Authority, spoke on the Housing Program at a luncheon meeting of the Civics Committee of the Free Synagogue at the Henry Street Settlement offices, 99 Park Avenue, Saturday afternoon. Commenting on the proposed projects to be undertaken in the East Side, Mr. Pink said. “Many are of the opinion that the authorities should not attempt a project on the lower East Side because of the high land values. I do not agree with this. The high land values do present a real obstacle to the achievement of low rents but we should not give up just because it is difficult.
