A special session of the governing board of the rabbinical school, “Chochma Lublin”, founded by Rabbi Meir Shapiro, who died last week, decided to appeal through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, to American Jewry, the press and the American rabbis to prevent the catastrophic ruin of the yeshiva.
The appeal was decided upon in view of the fact that American Jews had contributed so greatly to the building of the yeshiva.
Classes at the institution are continuing in a normal fashion, and a campaign has been proclaimed to save the yeshiva and the 250 young Talmudists who are studying there.
