At a meeting of the Board of Deputies on Sunday Col. Davigdor Goldsmid announced that Lucien Wolf’s visit to Eastern Europe is in the nature of a holiday and that whatever he has been able to do in Vienna and Bucharest toward assisting the Jewish students has been done in an unofficial capacity.

Roumania, it was reported to the Board of Deputies, has agreed to suspend measures for the evacuation of refugees. Negotiations are proceeding between Russia and Roumania for the establishing of a control to decide where the Dniester shall be crossed by refugees. The Deputies were informed that indications point to an improvement of the attitude of the Hungarian Government toward Jews.
