Marking the 85th birthday of Lucius N. Littauer, the Institute for Religious Studies will present him tomorrow with a resolution by the faculty and students in which men of all creeds join in recognition of the significance of the part which Mr. Littauer has played in building understanding among the western religions. The Institute was started at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America with a gift from Mr. Littauer, received in 1939.
Mr. Littauer’s 85th birthday coincides with today’s opening of the Chicago institute for Religious Studies, the first extension outside New York of the project in which the Jewish philanthropist played such an important role.
