General Ludendorff has announced the formation of the “League for the Defense of the Rights of Non-Christians.” He defined the object of his organization as follows: “The defense of the freedom which the constitution sworn to by the President of the Reich guarantees to religious belief, and which includes immunity as to the education of children from interference by the churches.”
General Ludendorff has not suddenly become a champion of the Jews, as his league might indicate. What he is really seeking is an alliance of those sections of the Nazis to whom the official anti-Semitism of their party does not go far enough because it does not reject Christianity in its entirety.
