The Lutheran Church in America will begin an intensified nationwide campaign to convert Jews to Christianity in the areas of Philadelphia and Chicago, it was reported yesterday at the closing session of the 42nd annual meeting here of the National Lutheran Council. Full-time area secretaries for work among the Jewish people have been appointed for the two cities.
At the same session, the Council passed a resolution calling upon the 5, 000, 000 Lutherans in America to condemn acts of anti-Semitism and cooperate with “constructive forces” in their communities to prevent the recurrence of such acts.
