“Jim Crowing” of Jewish students in Polish Universities was extended by the Lwow Polytechnic Institute tonight when authorities ordered Jews in the fourth and fifth year of the engineering school segregated in separate lecture rooms instead of separate benches in the same rooms.
The Jewish students served notice on the dean that they would not comply with the order. “Do as you like,” the dean replied.
At the order of Minister of Education Swietoslawski, the rector of the institute left for Warsaw, evidently to confer about anti-Semitism in the school.
