The Jewish Chronicle reports that 30 leading professors and lecturers at Lwow University, in Soviet occupied Poland, have signed a petition asking the release of Prof. Moses Schorr, former Polish Senator and Chief Rabbi, and ex-Premier Kazimierz Bartel, declaring that Rabbi Schoor had taken little part in political matters, confining his activities to defending the Jewish population against anti-Semitism.
