Moses A. Leavitt, executive vice chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee, has been re-elected chairman of the American Council of Voluntary Agencies for Foreign Service, it was announced today. He will be serving his fourth consecutive term as ACVA chairman.
The ACVA, organized in 1943, serves as the coordinating body for some 40 voluntarily-supported American organizations with overseas assistance programs. Representing sectarian and non-sectarian groups, the Council provides a channel for consultation and cooperation between voluntary, governmental and intergovernmental agencies on welfare, emergency relief and similar problems.
