The memory of Dr. J. Pulido, a Spanish Catholic who devoted 50 years of his life to promoting the welfare of the Jewish community of Madrid, was honored here last night at a reception in the home of Daniel F. Baroukh, president of the Madrid Sephardic Community.
Funds were raised at the reception for the erection of a monument to Dr. Pulido for which the Spanish Government has donated a site in Madrid and has contributed 25,000 pesetas. Among the guests last night were senior members of the government, Catholic scholars and clergymen, diplomats and members of the Bourbon family. One of the speakers was the 75-year-old son of Dr. Pulido.
