The German Dreyfus affair seems not to have ended with the confession of Schroeder, the murderer of Helling.

Notwithstanding this confession of guilt, the Magdeburg authorities refused to release Rudolf Haas, Magdeburg Jewish merchant, who was charged by them with inciting Schroeder to commit the murder. Following the confession of Schroeder that he had committed the murder and that Haas was in no way connected with it, the immediate release of Haas was expected today.
