Mail sorters ended a three day strike against the Ministry of Posts today but Israel’s postal and communications services remained in a state of disarray. Several days may be required to clear the backlog of undelivered mail. Striking telex and telegraph operators also returned to work today but engineers and technicians employed by the Ministry staged a wildcat strike this morning. The walkout delayed repairs to telegraph and telex lines damaged by recent winter storms. The postal employes are demanding additional pay for night work and fringe benefits.
