An all-star festival of Jewish and Biblical music will be given on February 28, at Carnegie Hall, under the auspices of Mailamm, Palestine Institute of Musical Sciences and Young Judaea.
The program for the evening is being arranged in cooperation with the Mailamm Committee on Musical Activities of which Lazare Saminsky is chairman, Joseph Achron, associate chairman and Ernest Block and Reuben Goldmark, honorary members.
The presentation includes a galaxy of famous artists and ensembles in a program by the foremost composers of the past and present. Mildred Kreuder, Pauline Koner and a Chorus conducted by Leo Low will be featured in the biblical stage performance directed by Ruth St. Denis, including her Ballet. Solo numbers by Nina Koshetz, Joseph Yasser, The Musical Art Quartet and the Stradivarius Quartet in addition to a four pianists’ ensemble will be augmented by other unusual features, to be announced later.
Ossip Gabrilowitsch and Mischa Elman are honorary chairmen with Felix M. Warburg, honorary chairman of the Society for the Advancement of Music in Palestine.
