Agreement has been reached between Malben, the Joint Distribution Committee’s welfare program for agent, ill and handicapped newcomers in Israel, and the Jewish Agency, under which Malben is to assume responsibility for the rehousing and maintenance, of 2,700 aged and invalid immigrants in the Pardess Hanna camp.
One thousand of the Pardess Hanna aged, including 100 blind persons, will be transferred to homes for the aged maintained by Malben. The remaining 1,700 will eventually be transferred to new homes to be constructed at a cost of two million Israeli pounds.
