Male rabbis in the Conservative movement are paid more and occupy more senior positions than female rabbis, according to a new study. The movement’s Rabbinical Assembly surveyed 177 rabbis ordained since 1985 and found that the gender discrepancy can be explained only in part by family-status issues.
