An appeal on the conviction of Russel Kelner, operations coordinator of the Jewish Defense League, is expected to be filed immediately after the sentencing, Kelner’s attorney said. Kelner was found guilty by a federal court Jury of publicly threatening to assassinate Yasir Arafat, head of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and faces a maximum fine of $1000 and five years in prison. He is to be sentenced July 9.
