The Manchester Guardian today bitterly criticized the British Government’s decision, announced in Commons yesterday by Colonial Secretary Malcolm MacDonald, not to admit 10,000 German-Jewish child refugees to Palestine. Asking why the Government did not ask the Arabs” in the name of mercy to let these children in,” the newspaper declared: “The Arabs have vast slices and Jewry, which like Lazarus is full of sores, asks only for crumbs from the rich man’s table.”
