The Manchester Guardian said yesterday in an editorial on Rumania that “one more government has forgotten justice and obeyed primitive, barbarous impulses, driving men to persecute their neighbors for differences of race and religion.” The liberal daily reminded Rumania of her obligations under the Minority Treaty of 1919 and said, “if the campaign against the Jews goes forward, it is to be hoped that the League Council will act firmly at its session this month.”
