The hope that the Palestine Government may find it possible to place State land at the disposal of Jewish colonization, is reported to be embodied in the conclusions reached by the Permanent Mandates Commission at its session here, as a result of the Commission’s examination and discussion of the annual report of the Palestine Mandatory and the memorandum of the World Zionist Executive.
The Mandates Commission closed its session today. While no definite statements were issued, it is believed that the attitude of the Mandates Commission toward the Zionist requests, as formulated and submitted to the Commission by the World Zionist Executive, is favorable.
The Commission took cognizance of the promise of the Government to increase its subsidy for Jewish education in Palestine. The examination of the Agudah petition was postponed until the promulgation of the new law with regard to the organization of Jewish communities in Palestine. The report, and the opinions of the members of the Mandates Commission will be referred to the Council of the League of Nations.
