The League of Nations Mandates Commission, concluding its examination of Britain’s new Palestine policy, was understood to have told Colonial Secretary Malcolm MacDonald today that the question of approval of the policy was beyond its competence and had to be referred to a higher League authority. A three-man subcommittee was appointed to formulate the commission’s observations for submission to the Council.
