The newly-elected Rumanian Parliament was ?ld today that under the new constitution, Jews in Rumania will enjoy the same ##ghts accorded other nationalities and will be entitled to a “national minority” status.
The announcement was made by Vasile Luca, Minister of Finance, in the course a debate on the constitution. Luca emphasized that Jews may now organize their ##m schools with Yiddish as the language of instruction. The schools will be subsi##zed by the government on the same basis as all other minority schools.
