Stern measures to curb the growing anti-Semitic student demonstrations and to suppress the anti-Semitic chieftain, Prof. Alexander Cuza, are demanded in today’s issue of the Klausenberg Patria, the organ of Julius Maniu, former premier. Maniu’s paper sees a close link between the student disorders and Professor Cuza’s untrammeled anti-Semitic agitation in and out of Parliament. The Bucharest Lupta also regrets that the government is doing nothing to check the growth of the student hooliganism.
J. Krishnamurti, world leader of the Theosophists, who has come to Roumania to propagate the ideas of his sect, avoided a delegation of students at the Bucharest station who were waiting to greet him in a none too friendly fashion by alighting at a small station just outside of Bucharest and making the rest of the trip by automobile.
