Many Jewish artists are participating in an exhibition of contemporary art opened here today by refugee artists. The exhibition is attracting considerable attention in London art circles. Virtually all of the European countries are represented.
Among the Jewish artists exhibiting are Fred Uhiman, Miss Mayerson, George Ehrlich, Felix Opolsky and S. Shames. The refugee motif is conspicuous. One of the most talked about of the paintings captioned “Back Again”, depicts an unhappy wandering Jew, setting down his suitcase in a British camp breathing a sigh of relief.
