Anti-Semitism is still poisoning the atmosphere of a number of countries in Europe and the Jewish survivors in many parts of the continent are still living under “concentration camp conditions,” Fred Monosson, chairman of the metropolitan division of the Combined Jewish Appeal in Boston, declared in an interview here.
Monosson, who is touring Europe and Palestine in behalf of the United Jewish Appeal, praised the work of the Joint Distribution Committee and asserted that without the physical and moral support of the Jewish voluntary relief agencies the DP’s could not hold up under life in a camp. He also stressed the need for education and retraining for the DP’s in preparation for their resettlement.
